I try to capture the feeling of a paused moment. As if someone hit pause on a strange but pleasant dream, from which it's a little sad to wake up.
It's important to me that my paintings evoke a slight excitement, a smile, and simple pleasure. So that they are enjoyable and interesting to look at, and to search for amusing details.
I want to give the viewer a visual impulse and the freedom to decide for themselves what is happening in the painting and to imbue it with whatever meaning they choose.
If you ask me what is happening in the painting, what the artist wanted to say, what it means, I will honestly answer, "I have no idea, what do you think?"
